LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Angel Fire is governed by a Village Council with four council members and a Mayor all elected to four year staggered terms. There are three police officers and one Chief of Police (all deputized to have jurisdiction in Colfax County as well as in the Village area), two dispatchers and an elected Municipal Judge. The Volunteer Fire Department is comprised of 20 members and the Volunteer Ambulance Service has 22 members with 17 certified Emergency Medical Technicians.

The Village has a Planning and Zoning Code, with a Planning and Zoning Commission and an Architectural Control Committee.
A General Master Plan is in use, which includes 1997 amendments as to land use, community design, and development controls. Click below for a link to the Village web site or call 505-377-3232 for information or to purchase a copy.
Voter registration is at Angel Fire Village Hall.
State liquor law mandates that persons must be 21 years old to purchase alcohol; Sunday liquor sales after noon.
