The "Cents" Of It: The dollars and cents of living at Angel Fire when compared to most Country Club/Resort communities is most reasonable. Home ownership costs $250,000 to $300,000. Figure about $150 per square foot. Condos - $80,000 to $200,000. Yearly Resort membership for all amenities (golf, skiing, tennis, fishing) begins at $1,500. A typical couple can live comfortably in Angel Fire with a $30,000 income (after taxes and home cost). Major shopping is in Taos (40 minutes). We are two driving hours from Santa Fe and three hours from Albuquerque. Ad valorem taxes on a $250,000 home run about $1,200. Insurance rates are reasonable. We have a very active city government (mayor/council), excellent fire and EMT organizations, plus a good, new hospital in Taos.

Fire: The desires of persons
looking for retirement can be varied, but for most the higher priorities
would be the amenities and people - plus nature's climate and scenery
at no extra charge. The amenities in Angel Fire range from skiing, golf,
tennis, fishing and hiking. All of these except hiking are owned by
the Resort and cost homeowners $900 to $2,000 per year according to
the amenities chosen. The people are a real unexpected plus - again
no charge. The majority of new homeowners are pleasantly surprised to
find they are among so many others with parallel interests. These common
denominators let all find a most comfortable and cherished life style.

delivery service yet - you are presented with a new and ever-changing
